                      IELTS Writing Task 1 (Letter-14)


Write a letter to your  friend and ask him/her to look after your house in your absence, give reasons for your travel and any specific instructions/requests.


Dear Lisa, 

I'm writing to request you to look after my home for seven days because I have to leave for an urgent trip to Delhi. (Bullet point 1)

I've to leave on the 10th of December, because a few clients are coming from the UK. There's an exhibition and international seminar going on in Delhi. The clients will be visiting the exhibition and take part in the seminar and they have requested me to present my company's products in the exhibition. Usually my parents are at home, but they have also gone on a religious tour to Ayodhya and will be back after 20 days. That's why I'm requesting you to come over this time. (Bullet point 2)

I will leave the key with the neighbours and you can find everything you need inside. The fridge is stacked with eatables, and and the TV has a cable connection. You know that I have two pet dogs and both are mild. They can't be left alone for long. I know you love pets and you will be able to handle Snowy and Blacky.  (Bullet point 3)

I would be back on the 10th of this month and if you could stay longer for a few more days, it is my pleasure.
