Setting: Hospital Ward

Nurse: 

Mrs Nina Eliot is a 67-year-old patient who is admitted to the hospital ward where you are a registered nurse. Six months ago, she had a coronary heart bypass graft., from which she has made a good recovery. Now there are six obstructions to the coronary arteries by atherosclerotic deposits and require balloon angioplasty. She has her her husband's death 3 years ago. Her current medical history indicates that she may need  to look at  lifestyle changes.

Task:

* Inform the patient about the her condition and further procedures.

* Collect the details about her diet, exercise, smoking and drinking habits.

* Convey the patient that the lifestyle changes can be made easily.

* Emphasise the importance of moderate exercise and eating healthier foods. 

* Discuss exercise options such as home workouts, walking or lawn bowls and setting achievable goals.
