You should spend about 20 minutes on this task
The graph below shows the average carbon di oxide (CO2) emission per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons wherever relevant.
Write at least 150 words.

The given line graph compares the metric tonnes of carbon di oxide (CO2) released by individuals in four different countries for a period of forty years.
Overall, the people of UK emitted the highest amount of the gas, whereas Portugal the lowest throughout the period. The emission in the UK and Sweden shows a decreasing trend, while that of Italy and Portugal shows an upward one.
In 1972, the per capita emission in the UK was 11, which steadily decreased to 9 metric tonnes by 2007. Compared to the UK, Sweden was the second highest producer of the carbon gas in the initial year, but their emission increased dramatically to 9 metric tonnes in the first decade; however, there was a rapid control, and it fell to the third place with a reduction of 2 metric tonnes.
On the contrary, Italy and Portugal show a decline in the release of the gas in the forty-year period. In 1967, Italy emitted about 40 metric tonnes of CO2, which rose suddenly to a little more than 6 in the first decade, similar to that of Sweden. Then there was a gradual growth, and it became the country second in place, releasing the highest amount of carbon di oxide. Compared to the other nations, Portugal released the lowest amount of only 1% of the carbon di oxide in 1967;however, the emission rose steadily 5 times till 1997 and then remained stable for the next decade.
