IELTS Writing Task 1. Response to advt.

 IELTS Writing Task 1.


You recently noticed a local restaurant that was offering a part-time job. 

Write a letter to the restaurant's manager.  In your letter,

* explain that you would like to apply for the job

* give some details of any relevant experience that you have

* specify the days and times that would suit you.

Begin your letter as:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you to express my interest in your job advertisement for a chef that I saw on the local newspaper.  as I am a qualified chef, I would like to apply for the post. 

It is evident from the job description that you require someone who can both cook in a creative and healthy way and communicate with the staff in an effective manner. My previous job was as an assistant chef at Broadway Restaurant in Australia, where I was responsible for preparing all dishes on the restaurant's menu and coming with inventive recipes to present to the head chef. I was also responsible at Broadway Restaurant for managing the cleaning and servicing staff, in which capacity I was able to build good working relationships with all the staff.

In the meanwhile, I noticed that this is a part-time job. My preferred days for working would be Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons. I would be available until late at night on those days, and I would would also be able to work two Saturdays of each month.

  Task 2 Essay Week Sample Essay 1.Agree/Disagree You have 40 minutes answer. Write at least 250 words. Society would benefit from a ban on all forms of advertising because it serves no useful purpose, and can even be dangerous.   To what extent do you agree or disagree? Answer.
