2. Diseases/ Conditions:

*Amblyopia

[Also known as "lazy eye" is a condition characterised by reduced vision in one eye due to abnormal visual development early in life.  

1. Symptoms:

* Poor vision in one eye

* Reduced depth perception

* Signs like squinting, shutting one eye, or tilting the head

* often goes unnoticed by parents

* Vision screening between ages 3 and 5 is crucial for early detection.

2. Causes

* Refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism).

* Strabismus (misalignment of eyes)

* Cataracts (cloudiness in the lens).

3. Treatment

* Corrective glasses.

* Eye patches

* Eye drops]

* Azotaemia

[ a medical condition characterized by abnormally high levels of nitrogen-containing compounds (such as urea, creatinine, and other waste products) in the blood. If left uncontrolled, it can progress into 'uremia' ( accumulation of waste products) and kidney diseases.]

* Bariatric

[ refers to the branch of medicine that deals with causes, prevention and treatment of obesity]

*Bell's Palsy

[is a condition that causes sudden weakness or paralysis of the muscles on one side of the face.]

* Bulimia/ Bulimia nervosa

[a serious eating disorder characterised by recurrent episodes of 'binge eating' followed by compensatory behaviors to avoid weight gain.]

* Capsulitis

[ a painful condition in the ball of the foot caused by inflammation of the ligament structure around the metatarsophalangeal joint]


3. Medical Procedures

* Cardiotocograph/Cardiotocography: It's technique used to monitor the fetal heartbeat and uterine contractions during pregnancy and labor. 

* Cholangiogram: It's an x-ray of your bile ducts, typically performed during gall bladder surgery. 

* Colposcopy: It's a medical diagnostic procedure used to closely examine the cervix, vagina and vulva.

* Cystourethroscopy: Also known as 'cystoscopy' is a diagnostic procedure that allows doctors to examine the linings of your bladder and the tube that carries urine out of your body(urethra). 

* Esophagogastroduodenoscopy: EGD, also known as 'upper endoscopy', is a diagnostic procedure that allows doctors to examine the lining of your upper gastrointestinal(GI) tract. 

* Fluorescein: It's an organic compound and dye used for diagnosing corneal abrasions, ulcers, and herpetic corneal abrasions.
