OET Writing, The Connectors to be  Avoided.


In OET writing, it is important to use connectors that are appropriate for the professional tone of a healthcare letter.

Avoid using the following connectors :

1. Academic Connectors: These are typically used in academic writing and may not be suitable for the professional tone of OET writing.

Example: Furthermore, Moreover.


2. Informal Connectors: These are typically used in informal or conversational English and may not be suitable for the professional tone of OET writing. 

Example: Besides, meanwhile, so.


3. Simple Connectors: at the Beginning of a Sentence: 

Some simple connectors such as 'and', 'but' and 'also' are fine to include in the middle of a sentence, but avoid using them for the start of the sentence.

Use more formal alternatives such as 'Additionally', "Therefore", and "However'.
