People are increaseingly reporting difficultys in sleeping, often as a result of our modern lifestile. This essay will consider the probelms caused by lack of sleep, along with solutions.
Lack of sleep is obviousely causes tiredness, but perhaps more importantly, redused ability to concentrate. When tired, the brain will struggle to foccus for any length of time and this can be a serius issue for workers who need to concentrate intensly, such as drivers and doctors. Sleep also helps the body to rejuvenate and heel, so any one who gets inadiqate sleep may start sufering from poor health. Indeed, studies show that lack of sleep may contribute to dibetes and cancer. In addition to physical health, failing to get a good night's sleep can also effect your mental health. Tired people are more prone to iritability and a short temper.
A couple of broad solutions may help people who can't get enugh sleep. The first is medication. Powerfull drugs like temazepam can asisit people in getting to sleep, while levels of natural sleep-indising hormone, melatonin, can be taken in tablet form. But even herbal remedys can help: a drink of chamomile tea in the evening, for example, can help ready the body and mind for sleep. A second, and perhaps better solution, may be to develope evening habits that prepare you for sleep. People need to winde down and relax during the evening if they are to get to sleep propely, so we should avoid computer screens or any activities that may stimualate the brain. Reading a good noval can be one of the best sleep aids for many people.
To conclude, lack of sleep can impact both physical and mental health, but medications and a relaxing evening routine can help overcome the problem.
