PART 3 Discussion - Sample Answers

1. When do people usually feel tired?

Ans: Well, I guess, tiredness is a common experience and multiple factors contribute to it. For example, lack of sleep or medical conditions or stress and emotional challenges can cause tiredness.

However, the most common cause of tiredness, I think, is due to unhealthy lifestyle. For instance, poor diet, lack of exercise can lead to feeling tired. Well, I'm not sure.

2. Do people feel tired these days more than in the past?

Ans: Well, in the past, most people engaged in physically demanding jobs such as farming, construction or manual jobs. These activities kept them active and contributed to to better overall fitness. However, nowadays, people spent their time in front of screens,  such as those of computers, smartphones and TVs. Increased screen time means more exposure to blue light which can disrupt sleep pattern. Moreover, the drastic changes in lifestyle, personal circumstances play a significant role why people feel more tired these days.

3. Do people get enough free time after work these days?

Ans: I feel, balancing work and leisure remains a complex challenge in our modern lives and the availability of free time varies significantly based on individual circumstances, work demands and lifestyle choices.

For instance, many people find themselves working longer hours due to increased workloads, multiple jobs big economic participation.

4. Do people have fewer holidays now compared to the past?

Ans: Certainly. I think people are taking more holidays overall; however, the duration and the nature of these holidays have changed. Economic pressure and the need to stay competitive in the job market encourage people to take fewer vacations. In the past, there was often a more distinct demarcation between work and leisure and more frequent holidays. Moreover, the shift system has significant role in shaping holiday trends.

5. What's the difference between feeling tired after studying/working and feeling tired after playing sports?

Ans: That's a hard question. Well, I think, feeling tired after studying or working is similar to our brain needing a break because it has been working hard. It's a type of mental tiredness.

On the other hand, feeling tired after playing sports is like our body needing rest because it has been physically active; so this is a physical tiredness.

Both scenarios signal that our body requires some recovery time.

6. Do people who are  involved in their work get to have fun?

Ans: Without any doubt, people who are deeply engaged in their work can indeed find enjoyment.  For example, when individuals are passionate about their work, they often derive a sense of fulfilment and joy. Whether it is a creative project, problem-solving, the basic motive can make the work enjoyable. Well, I think so.

7. Do older people get tired more easily than young people?

Ans: Well, that's an interesting question. As we age, it's natural that our energy levels change. For example, muscles weaken, bones lose strength, vision fades and hearing diminishes. So, it's obvious that the older people get tired more easily than the younger ones.
