Writing Task 2
Agree/ Disagree
Some people say that older employees are more useful for an organisation than the younger ones. How far do you agree or disagree?
It is often argued that the senior labour force is more crucial to an establishment; however, the others hold the view that it is the younger blood that contributes more. [Paraphrase] This essay will dwell on my opinion that I partially agree with the statement because both the generations have equally vital roles to play for the harmonious growth of an institution. [Thesis Sentence]
To embark on, the employees who are well acquainted with the stewardship and the day-today activities of any institution are an undeniable asset. [Argument 1]. Their extensive experience adds to the total development of the organisation . Moreover, they are seasoned enough to weigh the pros and cons of any issues that might crop up at any moment. [Reasons] For instance, the entire work force at the top level in successful companies, such as Infosys are adorned by veterans who render no small contribution to the success of the firm. [Example] Therefore, the significance of expertise in an organisation can not be discounted. [Conclusion]
On the flip side, the presence of young employees is equally indispensable in an organisation. [Argument 2]. It is the young and energetic professionals who decide the fate of an establishment. They are better exposed to technology which can be applied for the flourishing of the institution. Furthermore, they are nurtured to take bold decisions which the older employees may not dare. [reason] For example, in India all the district collectors are young professionals endowed with fresh ideas to remodel the society. [Example] Thus, young employees are an integral part of an organisation. [conclusion]
To conclude, it is arduous to answer the question, who is more congenial to a company, old or young employees. However, in my opinion, both are equally important as far as an organisation is concerned because one is a complement to the other.
