Nurse
You are seeing a 62-year-old patient who has been diagnosed with Vitamin B deficiency. He is visiting for more information about Vitamin B deficiency.
Task
* Confirm the purpose of the visit (review of the symptoms, current status, and any recent changes.) Find out about how the patient is feeling ( fatigue, numbness, or tingling)
* Explore the patient's understanding of Vitamin B 12 deficiency(awareness of condition, potential causes, previous discussions with doctor)
*Explain Vitamin B12's role. (eg. essential for nerve function, red blood production, and the consequences of deficiency (neurological problems, pernicious anemia, atrophic gratis, or surgery)
* Explain treatment options and management (eg. B12 injections, oral supplement, dietary changes, addressing underlying causes) * Find out any concerns or questions.
* Reassure the patient about treatment ( eg. prognosis is generally good. ongoing monitoring, long term management 3 weeks)
