Office designs have undergone changes over the time and the one major change is from independent private rooms to open and spacious cubicle for employees. There are multiple benefits for this change; however, they are not free from disadvantages. (Paraphrase of general statement)This essay will dwell on my opinion that even though there are a few demerits, merits of open space designs are more. (Thesis sentence)

To embark on, open space design is a concept that aims to create a space without walls that separate different functional areas within an environment. It can facilitate regular interaction and communication among colleagues. (Arguments in favour) Moreover, such an environs can increase collaboration, and encourage the staff to share ideas and work together on projects. (Reasons) For example, in Techno Park in Trivandrum, which houses hundreds of offices, have every floor one big flat separated into smaller cubicles from where one can interact with the others freely, and at the same time enjoying the private space as well. (Example) Thus, it is a more welcome change, creating a sense of openness and freedom. (Conclusion)

On the flip side, this type of office designs are not free from limitations. It can increase noise and other distractions, as it exposes workers to various sights and sounds from other areas. For instance, researches revel that such open environs create conflict and dissatisfaction causing tension among workers.
