 IELTS Writing  Task 1 -Letter

You recently bought some train ticket for a journey a week in advance. When you went to the station, to catch the train, you were told you could not use the ticket and the staff were very unhelpful.

Write a letter to the train company. In your letter:

* describe the problem you had with the ticket.

* say why you were with the staff

* suggest what action the train company should take.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received  at the Trivandrum station. Although I bought my tickets in advance, a week before my journey,  on May 22nd when I reached the station, I was told they were invalid. (Bullet point 1)    

The problem started when I presented my tickets at the entrance and your staff informed me that they could not be used for the journey. I was taken aback because I had purchased them from your website and had received an e-mail confirmation. Despite producing my the e-mail, your staff were adamant that the tickets were invalid. What added to my frustration was the utterly unhelpful attitude of your staff. Instead of assisting me resolving the issue, they they were dismissive and showed little  interest in understanding my predicament. This lack of customer service was disappointing and it caused me a great deal of inconvenience.  (Bullet point 2)

In the meanwhile, I would suggest that the train company take immediate action to rectify the rectify the situation. Firstly, there should be a thorough investigation into why the valid tickets are being deemed invalid. Secondly, the staff should be trained to handle such situations more logically and provide better customer service. (Bullet point 3)
