DOCTOR: You see a 28-year old patient who has been experiencing blackheads on their nose and chin for several days. The patient has tried over-the-counter treatments without success and is now seeking professional advice
TASK
* Find out the reason for the patient's visit
* Reassure the patient about blackheads (common, not serious, treatable, etc) Find out the details of the patient's condition.
* Explain the potential causes (e.g. excess oil production, clogged pores, hormonal fluctuations, etc). Give recommendations for treatment. (e.g., prescription retinoids, topical creams containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, professional treatments like extractions, etc)
* Discuss adjusting skincare routine (eg., avoiding over-exfoliation, using non-comedogenic products etc) . Explore lifestyle factors, (eg., diet, stress levels, skincare habits, etc)
* Suggest lifestyle changes to minimise blackheads through diet(eg., balanced diet, fruits, vegetables, hydration, etc.) and stress management (exercise, meditation, relaxation techniques, etc)
* Reassure about the treatment plan (high success rate, non-complicated, no/fewer side-effects, etc.) Offer follow-up advice ( eg., after 2 weeks, sooner in case of severity/side-effects.
