VPart 3 Discussion - Sample Answers
Let's talk about young people and cooking
1. What kinds of things can children learn to cook?
Ans: Kids can learn to cook a variety of dishes, starting with simple recipes and gradually progressing to more complex ones.
For instance scrambled egg or toast. I think, these basic items are great for beginners. Again, they can assemble their favourite sandwiches with various fillings. It's a good idea to encourage creativity by allowing kids to invent their own recipes.
2. Do you think it is important for children to learn to cook?
Ans: Well, without any doubt, teaching kids to cook is not only important but also beneficial for multiple reasons.
Firstly, cooking is a life skill and learning to cook equip children with essential life skills. As they grow older, they'll need to prepare their own meals, and having this knowledge ensures they can make healthier choices.
Furthermore, cooking requires planning, organisation, and cleanliness. C\In my opinion, children develop responsibility by following recipes and kitchen rules. Indeed, teaching them to cook is like giving them a recipe for life; a blending of skills, creativity, and nourishment.
3. Do you think young people should learn to cook at home?
Ans: Indeed, young people can benefit significantly from learning to cook at home, mainly because cooking fosters independence. When they can whip up (= promote, kindle ) a meal, they become less reliant on others. It's a practical skill that serves them well throughout life.
Eating out or ordering takeout can be expensive. Learning to cook helps young people save money by preparing their own meals. It's a valuable life skill, especially when they move out on their own,
Lets talk about working as a chef
4. How enjoyable do you think it would be to work as a professional chef?
Ans: Well, it's an interesting question. I reckon cooking involves measurements, timing, and chemical reactions. A good chef can have tons of fun if he knows the math and science concepts of cooking.
It provides a challenging canvas with stainless steel counters, knives and utensils which one can use as a painter uses his artist's brush.
5. What skills does a person need to be a great chef?
Ans: Well, it's a hard question and I have never thought about it. However, in my opinion, to become a great chef, one must possess a blend of technical expertise and soft skills.
The first and foremost is the kitchen skills, which include hygiene, kitchen management, adaptability and learning.
Creativity and menu creation are also a skill a good chef should possess because a good chef invents new dishes, combining tradition with creativity.
For example, I have seen how artfully some chefs present food on plates.
6. How much influence do celebrity/TV chef have on what ordinary people cook?
Ans: Well, I guess, celebrity and TV chefs have a significant influent on what ordinary people cook. In fact, they are akin to film stars shaping home kitchens in various ways.
For instance, celebrity chefs introduce fresh recipes, innovative techniques, and exciting flavor combinations through their cooking shows and cookbooks.
Without any doubt, they influence what we cook, how we cook and our overall food experience.
