Part 3 Discussion Sample Answers
1. Do you think people generally like changes?
Ans: Well, I think it depends on the people. There are some people who often resist changes because they think it doesn't always go smoothly with them. For example such people do not like to leave their comfort zones and they fear the unknown.
On the other hand some people welcome changes. They accept because such people think that it is motivating and strengthening.
2. Are there some situations or types of changes people generally don't like?
Ans: Well, I guess, people resist changes for various reasons.
The major reason, I think, is the fear of the unknown, because change introduces uncertainty, and some people feel uncomfortable when they don't know what to expect.
Again, we are creatures of habits and breaking the old habits and follow a new one can be challenging to them. Moreover, it's a human tendency to remain in the comfort zone.
3. How can changes impact people in a positive way?
Ans: Changes, without any doubt, can have a profound impact on individuals and communities.
Change provides opportunities for for learning and growth. When we embrace change, we acquire new skills, perspective, and experiences that enrich our lives.
I think, one of the most important impacts of changes is the strength it offers. This strength helps us to overcome adversities and adapt to the new situations. Moreover, every change opens door to new possibilities and introduces fresh avenues for success.
4. How is embracing change beneficial for personal growth?
Ans: I believe, embracing change is crucial for personal growth because it pushes us out of our comfort zone and compels us to challenge ourselves. Each time something changes, we grow and learn new things. Indeed, they are the catalyst for improvement, and with out changes, stagnation prevails.
5. Do you believe that some individuals are naturally more open to change than others?
Ans: Well, it's a difficult question: I never thought about it. However, I think, people vary in their openness to change. Some individuals naturally embrace change with enthusiasm, while others find it more challenging. For example mindset is important. A developed mindset encourages openness to change, but a fixed mindset may hinder adaptabilities. Well, I'm not sure.
6. Are there any downsides to too much change in someone's life?
Ans: Well, I think I'm not very sure. However, I feel, frequent changes can lead to stress and anxiety. Also, there can be adjustment problems. Too much change may affect physical health, too. for example, stress can affect the well-being of the individuals.
NOTE:
In PART 3 Discussion, go on speaking until the interviewer stops you and don't just answer and stop. Display your best English, instead.
In Part 3, it is quite possible that you have to speak about something you have never heard of. If you don't know the subject, tell the examiner soon, so he could ask you another question. Mind you, if you don't tell him and start trying to speak, he might think that it is not a knowledge problem, but a language problem.
