1. Why are the teenagers drawn to smartphones?
Ans: There are multiple reasons why teenagers are attracted by smartphones:
* Smartphones allow them to stay in touch with their friends and families, especially when when they are not allowed to meet in person or have a busy schedules.
* Smartphones provide them with entertainment and information, such as games, videos, music, and social media.
* Smartphones enable them to express themselves and explore their identity, such as by creating and sharing content, and joining online communities.
* Smartphone give them a sense of control and autonomy over their own lives, such as choosing what to do, when to do and who to do it with.
2. Do you think using smartphones and computers is good for young people?
Ans: That's an interesting question. Smartphones and computers are useful devices that can help young people learn, communicate and have fun. However, they also have some potential drawbacks, such as affecting their attention span, self-regulation and mental health. Therefore, it is important for young people to use these devices in moderation and balance them with other activities.
In my opinion, smartphones and computers are good for the young people as long as they are used properly and responsibly.
3. What are the disadvantages of using smartphones for young people?
Ans: Smartphones are useful devices; however, they are also have some disadvantages that can affect their physical, mental and emotional well-being. Some common drawbacks are:
* Teen tendonitis (TTT): Excessive texting and scrolling can cause pain and inflammation in the hands, wrists, and fingers. This condition is known as texting thumb or smartphone finger.
* Stress: Spending too much time on smartphones can increase the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression among young people. They may feel pressurized to respond to reply messages, keep up with social media, or compare themselves to others.
* Sleep loss: Using smartphone before bedtime can disrupt sleep cycle and quality of sleep. The blue light emitted by the screen can suppress the production of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. Moreover, the notifications and alert can keep them awake or interrupt sleep.
* Physical Inactivity: Young people who spend a lot of time on their smartphones may neglect their physical health and fitness. They may become sedentary, overweight, which can increase the risk of various chronic diseases.
4. Why aren't older people good at using mobile phones?
Ans: There are a few reasons why Old people not using smartphones, but not all older people are the same. Some of them may use smartphones for various purposes, such as staying in touch with family. However, the reasons why majority of them do not use smartphones are:
* Complexity: Some old people find smartphones too complex to use. They may prefer simpler devices or methods of communication that they are familiar with.
* Value: Some old people do not find the benefit or value of using a smartphone for their needs or interests. They don't want spend time and money on learning news or buying gadgets.
* Responsibility: Some old people have a sense of social responsibility that makes them reject smartphones or online services. They may worry about the impact of technology on society, environment or the economy or they want to support the local businesses or interactions.
* Accessibility: Some old people face physical or mental challenges that make it difficult for them to use smartphones. They may have problems with vision, hearing, or memory which affect their ability to use the technology.
5. How could technology companies adapt their products for older people?
There are several ways how technology companies can adapt their products suit the the older people by considering their needs, preferences and challenges. They are:
* Designing user-friendly handsets that are easy to read, navigate, and operate.
* Providing features that enhance safety, security, and independence.
* Creating personalized and accessible services that cater to different needs and budgets. For example, using low-cost financial plans, senior specific cellphones, and specialized tablets that can help communication socialization and entertainment.
