In many workplaces, online communication is getting more common than meeting face to face. Do the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

Thanks to the exponential developments in the field of science and technology, interpersonal communication has become more and more virtual than it used to be, especially in workplaces. [Paraphrase]While digital meeting lacks the direct human interaction which plays a crucial role in problem solving, in my opinion, the convenience and easy accessibility they provide are more beneficial in the days to come. [Thesis sentence]

To embark on, online communication has multiple advantages because it allows the employees to work from home and at convenient locations. [Advantages] This solves the cumbersome travelling long distances, which in turn saves a lot of time, money and energy. [Reasons] For instance, during the covid 19 pandemic, employees could perform their duties from home without any physical contact. [Example] Thus, online communication in workplace has several advantages. [Conclusion BP1]

On the flip side, digital communication is not without any negatives. One of the major disadvantages of online communication is the absence of live human communication, which is crucial for decision making in workplaces. [Disadvantages] The most effective and efficient solutions can be arrived at by interpersonal discussions. [Reasons] For example, meticulous planning which involves mathematical equations and drawings are better accomplished by face-to-face discussions. [Example] Therefore, online communication is not free from any demerits. [Conclusion BP2]

To conclude, even though online communications lack human interactions which are indispensable for in-depth discussions, the easy access and comforts it provides, outweigh the disadvantages.
